MISSION

Sound Studies Educational Foundation is an initiative where people across Houston can play, learn and make music, and discover more of who they are and how they want to be.

We build on the strengths, stories, curiosity, and creativity  within communities to honor the many ways people think, learn, and self-express. We expand access to meaningful, high-quality learning and enrichment that reflects lived experiences.

We co-create learning and provide access to enrichment as a right through music, play, and cooperative adventure. Students are welcomed and affirmed in the gifts they bring, the mastery they want to accomplish, and in the ways they most create belonging. 

VISION

Sound Studies envisions a future of learning and enrichment in joyful, natural environments where our community honors and celebrates our individual gifts.

We see a world where people are seen, valued, and supported to self-express. We believe learning follows curiosity and exploration, and belonging is created through diversity, acceptance, reflection, relationships, and discovery.
